Beloved brethren in Christ, the grace of our Lord be with you always. God is good and His mercy eternal, we can say until now that the Lord has helped and sustained us. The life of every missionary is focused on the absolute dependence on God, because we live by faith and we walk by faith as children of God called to the ministry giving due honor to the name of God. We are grateful that His presence is with us. The ministry is difficult but so far we can say that we have worked and are working in what we have been entrusted, as we all know God has given us the ministry of Oasis. This is a ministry that helps low-income people, who are living in misery not only spiritual but also materially. With the help of God and the Hogar Shalom, the residents are given food, literal and spiritual. We need your prayers for these people to acquire a commitment to God and receive Him as their personal savior Some are believers but most are attending more out need not by Christ. We know that God's word does not return void and the seed is being sown in their hearts. What need first from everyone are your prayers, second your financial collaboration, both are necessary to sustain the work of the Lord in our ministry. Philippians 4.10-13 says, “How grateful I am, and how I praise the Lord that you are concerned about me again. I know you have always been concerned for me, but for a while you didn't have the chance to help me. Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to get along happily whether I have much or little. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need.” Our trust is in God and if our Father is taking care of the birds then how much more will he care for us who are His children.

Friends, our second ministry with the children's home continues. Some children have become sick from the common flu and have prayed a lot for all who live in the home that we are not affected by the H1N1 influenza that is affecting many countries and not excluding ours. Please pray for the children and all staff working in the home that God will keep us free from any disease. Pray to God for wisdom to advise us on the scriptures to share with the children and together we are in charge of the spiritual area for the children. Hoping that the grace of our God be with us all. God bless you, I thank you in advance for your prayers and help to our ministry, we love you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

When Jesus saw the multitude he was moved with compassion. The closer we walk with Christ the more like Him we become. Christ, in the midst of terrible news for he had just heard of John the Baptist being beheaded, was still moved by the suffering of the people. We are so grateful to be able to go three times a week and spend some time with the Oasis Community. During the last 5 weeks we have begun to build some personal relationships with some of the residents.
Mayra and I are overwhelmed with compassion but are limited in what we can do to help materially. I understand that it is not our place to meet all the needs of everyone but it is no mistake that God has placed us in this certain community to minister the love of Christ. Just yesterday we had a young woman approach us. She began to tell us that she had been living with her sisters family but they were moving and she couldn't go with them. She has asked us to help her build a shack out of plastic and tin. That brought tears to my eyes. I can't imagine. Poverty is nothing new. There is severe poverty in many different countries all over the world. God has not placed us anywhere other than here. This is our field. This is where we can make a difference. I don't know God's plans. Trying to help even in a small community like this can be overwhelming but by being obedient to God's leading we can share the love of Christ.

For this very purpose is why we are asking for $500.00/month from our support network. We really need everyone's help. We already have $100.00/month committed. We are asking that the others that receive our mailings, updates and read the blog to step up and join with us and impacting the Oasis Community. Please consider committing to 10, 20, 50 or 100 dollars a month to the Oasis Ministry. If you will join with us, you may do so on the right of this page by pressing the Donate button and using your credit/debit card.

Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you. - Luke 6:38

It has been crazy here at our new ministry home! Our new leaders wasted no time giving us jobs and responsibilities. Miladys and me are overwhelmed with the love of Christ in this ministry. We consider ourselves blessed beyond words to be a part of it. We have been busy from day one working with the mission teams, the Oasis Feeding Program, leading devotinals with the children and trying desperately to motivate the children to study there schoolwork. Needless to say, there are very few dull or boring moments here at Hogar Shalom. We thank you all for your prayers and financial support.

And the world is passing away, and the lust of it;
but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Y el mundo pasa, y sus deseos;
pero el que hace la voluntad de Dios permanece para siempre.
